"The Artist"

Hello my name is Kaitlin. I've been painting for just over 7 years now. I decided to attend art school shortly after a car accident that left me with a badly injured right arm.  The idea of going to art school made me feel inspired and hopeful that it would not only be good physiotherapy for my arm but it would help  me to emotionally and spiritually get through the trauma I experienced.  I attended school at the Victoria College of Art in Victoria British Columbia Canada. After graduating school my artwork was displayed at a local bistro in Victoria B.C. I have also had the opportunity to create beautiful commissioned pieces of artwork for all different people including trading a painting of mine in exchange for dental surgery. There are also a couple works of mine that have homes in other countries. May 5 through till June 25 2017 my artwork will be displayed at the prestigious Robert Bateman Gallery.          Over the years I have been evolving and developing my personal style as an artist. When I'm asked to describe my style I usually say simple shapes paired with vibrant colours. My style is unique like me. In every piece that I create the goal is to connect with people and invoke them not just on a visual level. I look forward to growing more as an artist and continuing to express my perspective of the beauty that surrounds us.
